The objective of this project was to create a large panel for Canada’s Penitentiary Museum, for the topic of Hobbycraft.
The objective of this project was to create a large panel for the client, Canada’s penetentiary museum. The Canada Penetentiary Museum’s audience typically consists of summer tourists who are interested in Canada’s oldest penetentiary within the city of Kingston. For this project, a gradient was used within the timeline from the 1800s to the 2000s to differentiate between each time period. Each line was used to break up each portion of the timeline in an interesting visual way to capture the visitor of the museum’s attention, while guiding them through the story of how prisoners were used within the internal workforce. Font sizes needed to be large to be read from a distance, and colour choices were made to fit within the museum’s existing environment.
